Tattle-Trail TTK 650 is a wireless, water resistant towing monitor system that is designed to be permanently mounted to enclosed trailers, fifth wheels, horse trailers, boats, or any other towed vehicles to check for excess vibration while towing, as well as monitor parked or stored vehicles for theft or mooring failures. The receiver (which mounts with Velcro to the towing vehicle dashboard) is designed to be used in all towing vehicles including bus conversions, Class A, B, or C motorhomes, trucks and cars. In addition to the transmitter and receiver, the TTK 650 system includes a power cord for the receiver with 12VDC plug (cigarette lighter), installation instructions, mounting hardware, instruction manual and quick reference help card.
While towing, the TTK 650 system continuously monitors for increased levels of vibration, sensed by the transmitter, attached to the towed vehicle. Increased vibration may be the result of tire tread separation, loose or blown tires, broken suspension, loose hitch or ball or runaway vehicle. Any chassis vibration in the towed vehicle exceeding the user selected "normal" threshold (adjusted on the receiver while driving) generates both audible and visual alarms in the towing vehicle. The driver may then follow standard towing safety guidelines to stop and check the towed vehicle for problems, thereby reducing further damage and towing hazards.
If parked or moored, the TTK 650 can vigilantly watch over your vehicle, trailer or boat. As with the TTK 550, the receiver can be located within 1,000’ line of sight range and be powered with an 110VAC to 12VDC adapter. This arrangement will allow you to monitor a vehicle, a trailer, or boat stored on davits, for theft (shock, motion or tilt angle changes) from your motel room, house or other nearby location. A unique feature of the TTK 650 is the ability to sound an alarm at the vehicle. In the event an alarm condition is detected, a relay contact in the TTK 650 transmitter will actuate a horn or audible alarm on the monitored vehicle as well as at the receiver. Additionally, the TTK 650 transmitter can operate totally independent of the receiver. This new feature incorporates all the standard TTK 550 features in addition to three new alarm inputs. On a boat the alarm inputs can be configured to sense high bilge water levels, elevated temperature and an intruder opening a deck hatch while in the “Park” mode. On a trailer, they could monitor elevated temperature, hatch left open and an intruder opening a door while in the “Park” mode. Also, while operating independently of the receiver in the “Park” mode, since the transmitter is not communicating with the receiver, power consumption drops to a very low (7 mA) allowing months of operation on a typical 12volt battery.
Additional features include a battery voltage monitor that alerts the user of a low battery condition in the towed/stored vehicle.
The Tattle-Trail TTK 650 is simple to install and easy to use. Simply attach the transmitter with screws and wire it to 12VDC in the towed vehicle, connect optional inputs and alarm output, and plug the receiver into the 12VDC receptacle of the towing vehicle. The transmitter and receiver communicate wirelessly with no additional wiring or calibration necessary. Adjust the receiver sensitivity with a single knob while driving to allow for current road conditions. The Tattle-Trail TTK 650 provides peace of mind and allows the user to both Tow and Park with Confidence!
